Whitney Thiry, MSW

I’m Whitney, they/them, I'm trans, and I’m a therapist :) I show up to therapy as a fellow human to get to know you and be part of your growth. My practice as a therapist has grown through the lens of Infant Mental Health which emphasizes the role of relationships and play in healing. Within a caring relationship we can find the strength to tell our story, feel our feelings, and connect to the parts of ourselves we’re afraid of. I particularly like working with queer people of all ages to help them love and care for the babies inside them.
I'm trained as a children's yoga teacher with an emphasis on mindfulness, co-regulation, and regulation. These practices are for everyone, and I believe they are made more accessible when taught with the belief that we are all children :) I also practice martial arts and love learning new ways of incorporating this into my work.
We are each born with gifts and somatic intuition. Oftentimes, the trauma of this world and in our lives takes us away from that. I love to help people listen to the wisdom of their bodies and the natural world to guide them through healing and toward embodiment. If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to meet you!
