Nat Shannon-Hutchison, MSW
Hello and welcome. My name is Nat, and I am comfortable using all pronouns, including my name. I’m glad you’re here. I believe we are all more alike than we are different, and yet each of us is miraculously unique and deserving to be seen for our whole selves. Thank you for stopping in for a peek at my page.
Besides undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Anthropology, and Psychology, and master’s degrees in Human Services Administration and, most recently, Social Work (Chicago State University), I’ve had years of experience working with individuals from diverse populations (BIPOC, LGBTQI+, trauma survivors, seniors, …) challenged by unique concerns. I am currently licensed as an LLMSW in Michigan and an LCSW in Illinois.

When life presents difficult questions and problems, I am here to create safe space for you to explore and find solutions that are unique to you and your pathways toward peace.
Whether it be:
-
depression and anxiety
-
grief and loss
-
concerns about your or a loved one's gender expression and/or romantic orientation
-
chronic health issues
-
difficult relationships
-
generational trauma
-
stress from systemic oppression,
or other issues, you deserve a safe, nonjudgmental space to find equilibrium and answers.
My theoretical approach is client-centered, mindful, liberation-based and trauma-informed.
We all experience life challenges that create barriers to joy and living our best lives. Finding healing and peace is possible and it would be my honor to join in your journey toward living your best life.
