Lindsey Distefano, MA
Lindsey (she/her) works from a relational and systemic perspective that also explores your
thought processes, values and strengths. She believes therapy is most useful when it is person-
centered and highly tailored to your strengths and desired areas of growth and exploration.
Utilizing a systemic lens, Lindsey will help you uncover repeating patterns and explore their
value or need for change. She utilizes evidence-based theories and modalities such as Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy among others depending on your needs.
She views therapy as a collaborative process where you are active in identifying goals and
providing feedback as to the progress of treatment. She specializes in working with issues related
to family dynamics and is effective in helping you create change in relationships so that they are
more fulfilling and you are empowered to navigate conflict. She also specializes in treating grief,
loss and transitions as well as anxiety, depression and trauma.
She currently is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan and Colorado. She holds a Master’s of Arts degree in Counseling with an emphasis on couples and families from the University of Colorado Denver. She earned a Master’s of Arts degree in School Psychology from The University of Denver and Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. In all of her educational endeavors and work experiences she has sought environments and learning that was inclusive, accepting and emphasized diversity.
