

Leah short, MSW

Leah Short (she/they), a queer Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience, has dedicated their professional life to creating healing spaces and community for marginalized folks. Leah primarily works with LGBTQIA+ individuals, victim/survivors of gender-based violence, and those struggling with suicidal ideation. Starting their profession as a Victim Advocate in 2009, Leah has extensive experience and knowledge related to working with survivors of gender-based violence.
Leah uses a trauma informed approach in all therapeutic relationships, as well as strengths-based approach and elements of mindfulness and self-compassion, to garner healing. Leah values art as a therapeutic medium and has created numerous Zines.
Leah is an alumnus of Loyola University Chicago where they received their Master of Social Work in 2015. Leah also is an alumnus of Michigan State University where they received a Bachelor's in Psychology and Women & Gender Studies in 2013.
