Laura Muniz, MSW

My name is Laura Muniz (she/her), a limited license therapist with experience working with individuals, couples, and families. My journey into therapy started with a deep desire to help others navigate life’s challenges and create lasting change in their lives. Through a combination of empathy, professional training, and a genuine passion for mental wellness.

What sets me apart as a therapist is my holistic approach to healing and being able to serve the Spanish speaking community. I am fluent in both English and Spanish and use techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with more relational and mindfulness-based practices. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their feelings and experiences. I also use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help my clients learn to manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and learn acceptance and make changes.

I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with clients in a variety of settings, including private practice, group therapy, psychiatric hospitals, and currently work with Kent County Community Mental Health providing crisis services and resources. I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse individuals who have overcome significant challenges such as anxiety, depression, BPD, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, trauma, body dysmorphia, and relationship difficulties. I firmly believe that healing is possible for everyone, no matter the circumstances.

If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you where you are, provide compassionate guidance, and help you unlock your full potential, I invite you to reach out to schedule a consultation. Together, we can work toward your goals and create meaningful, lasting change.
