Finn Asterión (Marcks), MSW
Finn Marcks (he/they) is a queer, trans, nonbinary therapist who believes in providing a safe and affirming, healing environment for people who are hurting. Finn’s main passion is working with transgender/gender non-confirming/gender-expansive clients and those healing from trauma. As a lifelong artist himself, Finn believes creativity can play a role in a person’s healing process. He often uses art, music, writing, and other interests to engage clients in therapeutic practices.
Finn’s therapeutic lens is shaped by both his lived experiences and his work in LGBTQIA+ education and advocacy, as well as youth residential mental health. Finn uses an integrated, trauma-informed approach that pulls primarily from the Person-Centered Approach and Motivational Interviewing.
They also utilize tools from CBT, DBT, Polyvagal Theory, and Narrative Therapy. Finn has found these methods most effective when working with clients through traumatic experiences and PTSD, along with issues around sexuality and gender identity.
