Ashley Forton, MSW

Hi, I’m Ashley (she/her). Whether you are seeking therapy services for yourself or your child, I’m glad you’re here.

In my core, I believe everyone deserves to feel joyful, connected, and safe while being their authentic self. So many things can make that difficult and keep us from deeply connecting with ourselves and others. If you, or your child, are struggling with the impact of trauma, stress, neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, or if you are part of the LGBTQ+ community, you are in the right place.

As a therapist, my main goal is to create a safe space for you to be authentically yourself and feel seen and heard. I work to be open, curious, and worthy of your trust as we embark on a therapeutic journey to address your concerns.

With younger folks, I incorporate play therapy techniques in addition to talk therapy and skills-based approaches. When I work with adolescents and adults, I am very adaptive to your needs—some adults need to play, some need to talk, some need to experience the sensations in their bodies more fully. I work with clients and their caregivers to create a plan that best supports their unique mental health journey.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Grand Valley State University and my Master of Social Work degree from Western Michigan University. I also have past experience working with children and adolescents in residential and k-6 public school settings. I have worked with many ADHD, Autistic, and LGBTQ+ children, teens, and adults and this continues to be my passion.
Please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to further discuss if I would be a good fit for you or your child.
