

Kristin Roberts, PhD

Kristin's (she/her) approach is collaborative and tailored to meet your needs, personality, and cultural factors. She believes in meeting people where they are to help them grow, heal, and achieve the personal changes they want to make. Her style is warm and approachable and she strives to create a safe and non-judgmental environment. Kristin works from an integrative approach to therapy, with an emphasis on a relational psychodynamic framework. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, identity concerns, religious trauma, and relationship concerns. She is LGBTQ+ affirming and emphasizes a multicultural framework that embraces cultural humility, respect, and the exploring of salient identities.
Kristin earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. Her dissertation focused on the dynamics of attachment styles in the psychotherapy relationship. Her research on attachment and psychotherapy has been presented nationally and internationally, as well as published in peer-reviewed psychological journals. Kristin has worked with adults in community mental health, outpatient therapy, and university settings in the Grand Rapids area since 2014. She has specialized training and experience in psychological assessment, clinical supervision, and group therapy.
