Eric Sauer, Ph.D
Dr. Eric Sauer believes that therapy is about building relationships and helping others to gain a better understanding of themselves and others. As a therapist, he focuses on building trusting and collaborative relationships with clients from which they can examine difficult or painful issues in their lives. This journey might involve examining current relationships, important relationships from the past and/or painful thoughts and emotions. He believes that therapy and the therapeutic relationship, in particular, can offer clients a new way to be in the world, a new way to see the world, and a new way to be with others.
Dr. Eric Sauer graduated with his PhD in Counseling Psychology from Michigan State University in 1999. He is a Professor and the Co-Director of Training for Western Michigan University’s Counseling Psychology Doctoral Program, as well as the Director of the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services.
